Dr. Tyrel Detweiler DC, MS

Dr. Detweiler looks to incorporate his experience in athletics into his treatment in order to speed recovery, maximize performance, and improve function. Wether you are a weekend warrior, competitive athlete, or simply ailing from muscle and joint related pain, these principles allow for corrective treatment of your problems while focusing on the cause in order to prevent further occurrences. Dr. Detweiler obtained his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri. He also holds a Master of Science in Sports Rehabilitation from Logan University.

Dr. Detweiler has been involved in athletics throughout his life. As an offensive and defensive lineman at the high school level, he was a multi-year letter winner and received All-State academic and athletic accolades. He continued playing offensive line at the University of Iowa which saw multiple success seasons including wins in the Outback Bowl in 2009 vs South Carolina and the BCS Orange Bowl in 2010 vs Georgia Tech. Following undergraduate schooling, Tyrel coached offensive line at the high school level for two seasons. He also coached in the offseason as a private one-on-one instructor for developing young offensive lineman.

Dr. Detweiler continues to compete and promote a healthy lifestyle as well outside of his practice by maintaining strong ties with strength sports. He competed in powerlifting at the 275 Jr. AD class and strongman at the heavyweight class, and has orchestrated and promoted two strongman events in the St. Louis area. Tyrel has also provided care for athletes over multiple sports and events including all MIZZOU athletics, and strongman events such as the 2015 U.S.S. Strongman National Championships.

Since moving to the Mid-South area, Tyrel has remained involved in athletics. As a physician, he provides chiropractic care for all University of Memphis athletics and at a satellite office at NBS Fitness in Cordova, TN which is home to the best strength athletes in the Memphis and Mid-South area. Administratively, he is the current Mississippi State Rep for United States Strongman. Tyrel also looks to begin private individual coaching for young offensive lineman in the Mid-South area.

Dr. Detweiler has much experience with soft tissue, rehabilitative, and exercise therapies as well as athletic injury assessment and evaluation. He holds certifications in Active Release Techniques (ART), Graston, and MOTUS Therapeutic Methods.
